Planning for the Fall Gallery Exhibit

This is a Site Map. Link on the Section you want to find.
I'll have all the links fixed by Wednesday. I had to change many of them around.
It took longer than I thought it would. jeanne

This morning I'm uploading blogs for many of the topics we'll be discussing this semester on both campuses, CSUDH and UWP. The blogs are a major part of our new mentoring program, so do take the time to explore them. But this has slowed us down a little with syllabi. Those will be up soon. jeanne

  • Letters of Recommendation:

    • Letters of Recommendation: How to get me to respond to your request. Many of you need letters. If you will follow this format, I can do them quickly and make them good.
    • Dog Letters If you do not give me adequate information, but do manage to get my attention, you may end up with a dog letter. That is a letter that says that you work well with people, that you are enthusiastic, that you persist at getting things done, and that everyone likes you. Of course, my dog gets along well with people, brings his ball to them, is enthusiastic, and persists at getting them to take his ball. Everyone likes my dog. That's a dog letter. It's so general it could be about my dog. jeanne

  • The Blue Footed Booby:

Arnold's anniversary (28th) gift to jeanne: Offer of a cruise to see the Blue-Footed Booby: I gotta find shoes like that. jeanne

This photo shows the blue feet so well. Thanks to the photographers, Gough, G.A., Sauer, J.R. Patuxent Bird Glossary. 1997. Patuxent Wildlife Research Center, Laurel, MD.

A worksheet together with the whole story of the blue footed booby. Share this with a young person in your life.

Backup of photo from a cruise ad; couldn't find such a face anywhere else. jeanne
Look at that face. His/her eyes absolutely captured me. For that I'll go to the Galapagos. Couldn't find such a shot anywhere else, and, of course, I don't know who took it. But it was an ad for a Celbrity Xpeditiion to Galapagos, that came from the American Express Mariner Club.

Once the Bear Chose His Beer Los Angeles Times, The Nation, August 20, 2004.

    " From Associated Press

    "August 20, 2004

"BAKER LAKE, Wash. When state Fish & Wildlife agents found a black bear passed out on the lawn of Baker Lake Resort, there were some clues scattered nearby dozens of empty cans of Rainier Beer.
"The bear apparently got into campers' coolers and used his claws and teeth to puncture the cans. And not just any cans.
" 'He drank the Rainier and wouldn't drink the Busch beer,' said Lisa Broxson, bookkeeper at the campground and cabins resort east of Mt. Baker.
"Fish & Wildlife Enforcement Sgt. Bill Heinck said Wednesday that the bear tried one can of Busch, but ignored the rest. The bear then consumed about 36 cans of Rainier.
"A wildlife agent tried to chase the bear from the campground, but the animal climbed a tree to sleep it off. Agents herded the bear away, but it returned in the morning.
"Agents then used a trap to capture it for relocation, baiting the trap with the usual: doughnuts, honey and, in this case, two open cans of Rainier."
